Read The poisonwood bible,

A very good read, fiction, takes place in Africa, latter part of 20th century, beginning when a baptist family goes for a year of missionary work in old Congo of Africa, and how they adapt or not in this very strange setting, not at all what they were expecting. Chapters are told by each daughter (there are 4) and occasionally the mother. Written by Barbara Kingsolver, I think what I took most from this book is how much we have here in this country, and how little they have in theirs, and how they manage to survive on so little. I think our material stuff takes way from a spiritual life.

Sunday, a lazy kinda day

Didn't mean to, but I ended up wasting the day away today. Watched some tv shows I had taped, (Flashforward, and Fringe) and then watched football! I have a fantasy football team that is doing poorly, rats! All this game watching isn't helping either!

fall

I think fall has finally arrived, just went outside and felt a cool breeze. Nice! After having 8 or 9 straight days of 90 + degrees in October, it's about time. I think it's time to go fishing!
